Video: 患有先天性行走障礙的小馬学习使用新輪椅,動物的待遇蛮不錯哦!

Roozer Brewz aka Roo is learning to use his wheels!!! Yes. It has been a long, long road and no, no decisions have been made lightly with a long road still ahead. I am absolutely ok with euthanasia if Roo's quality of life is diminished. What most people see, is the 20 seconds of one clip, not the thousands of other pics and videos we have put on his Facebook page. He runs, bucks, plays and acts like a horse. (Come check out his Facebook page to see some of his antics) He uses the wheels as a way to off load his weight so he can increase his muscle strength and tendon tone. (i.e. using crutches to toe down when you have an injured limb) We go very slow to be sure that we do not cause any other injuries to muscles, tendons or bones. Whether it be a human or animal, when rehabilitating, it is a very slow process. This video is literally the very first time he was in his wheels. We are under the supervision of a phenomenal equine specialist team. I am very open and on his Facebook page, we discuss just about all aspects of his life, care, trials and tribulations. He has gone from needing full supports in the front to walking with only his SoftRide ride boots. His muscle and tendon strength has increased so much and his care team is so impressed. We welcome anyone who does have questions, to please feel free to reach out. We have nothing to hide and are not out to make Roo a circus side show. As I have said in the past, Roo is the barometer for our decisions and path of his care. It takes time, patience and heart. I made the commitment to him and where that ends up, is up to Roo.
